Syracuse Dominates Gonzaga 87-65

Posted by Beeker on March 21, 2010

Syracuse dominated this game led by Wes Johnson and Andy Rautins. Wes had a career High 31 and Andy had 24.

The Cuse played as well as they could and built the lead up to 30. They move on to play Butler on Thursday in Salt Lake City. Go Cuse!!

Syracuse leads 47-32

Orange Are Ready For Gonzaga

Posted by Beeker on March 21, 2010

It should be a sea of Orange at the Cuse vs Gonzaga game today. I expect a raucous crowd and Cuse victory to send us all home happy just like we were on Friday night.

Luxury Box at HP Pavilion

Posted by Beeker on March 21, 2010

While my Pops and I are in Buffalo some buddies back in the Bay were checking out games at the HP Pavilion from a luxury suite. My Cuse tickets are last row, this isn’t fair.

They were treated to a nail biter between with Butler holding on for a 54-52 victory. The second game wasn’t as exciting as Washington continued it’s hot streak and took care of New Mexico with ease.

Check out Eric enjoying the free buffet.

Mikey And Family Visit Us In Buffalo

Posted by Beeker on March 20, 2010

My good buddy Mikey a fellow Cuse fan and his better half Tammy visited Buffalo for the day with their family. Since college Mikey has grown up now with a wife and two kids. I am still traveling across the country to watch college basketball games.

His daughter Paityn and son Maddin were adorable and stole the show at dinner. They are young Syracuse fans in the making and will be watching them take down the Zags on Sunday. After seeing them in their Syracuse gear how could anyone root against the Cuse.

The Wing War Champ Is…

Posted by Beeker on March 20, 2010

After sampling Duff’s wings in a medium sauce Pops and I have picked our champion.

Both Anchor Bar and Duffs had great wings but we went with Duffs.

We thought the sauce was thicker and hotter providing better overall taste.

We’ve been told by locals that at Anchor Bar to order the hot sauce but we found out after already having the medium sauce. Anchor Bar had a crunchier wing but Duffs still had crunch and a better sauce.

Both were great and when in Buffalo you need to give some love to the Anchor Bar and Duffs

Behind the Scenes with Vermont

Posted by Beeker on March 20, 2010

The Joseph brothers playing against each and younger brother Kris coming out the victor. The Vermonts top player Marcus Blakely who is a projected 2nd round pick didn’t disappoint going for 17pts and 9 rebounds. He had some high-flying dunks that helped end the first half on a 15-2 run for the catamounts.

Before the game we were lucky enough to meet Marcus’s dad Marvin and chat with him about his son and the Vermont team. Marvin is one proud dad as he should be since Marcus leads the team in points, rebounds, steals, assists, blocks yes he leads in every category!! I thought Vermont deserved better than a 16 seed and so did Marvin and they were stuck playing pretty much a home game for the Cuse. Marvin was enjoying the moment though and had a big personality to match his sons big game.

I wish the Blakely family well and it was a pleasure to learn more about them and meet Marvin.

Syracuse Wins 79-56

Posted by Beeker on March 20, 2010

For most of the game the Cuse was pretty dominant and let their transition game and 3 point shooting take control. Vermont made their 15-2 run to close out the first half but didn’t get any closer in the 2nd.

Being able to watch my favorite team play and have my pops with me was such a treat!! This is not something easily done for us being on opposite sides of the country. The atmosphere was electric and having a house full of Cuse fans was something we will never forget. Not only were we here in person but Elan (the best girlfriend ever for dealing with my sports addiction) was back in San Fran following the game on her iPhone and rooting for the Cuse and for Cal to beat Louisville.

She did all this while watching her 10yr old and 13yr old nieces b-ball games and had a little help from Otto the Orange (see below). I couldn’t be happier after experiencing my first ever NCAA Tournament games and can only hope that the Cuse takes care of business on Sunday.

Syracuse Half Time 37-25

Posted by Beeker on March 20, 2010

The Cuse got off to a fast start and 23 point lead but than they got sloppy and have let Vermont get within 12 at halftime. The Cuse better pick up the defense and start playing better offense against the zone defense Vermont switched to.
